GP down.. Maths next
Finished with GP, next is Maths C paper. GP was an okay paper. I attempted the question "Women can never enjoy the same rights as men." Okay, I played with the word "never" and "same" cause naturally they are extreme words. Anyway that essay was the most confident essay I have wrote. For the comprehension, simply a word - sucks. The summary was a killer, at least for me it is. Anyway since GP is over, lets not talk about it.
Recently, I have been watching an old show (Not that old actually, it is a show in 2002) "The monkey king - Quest for the Sutras" The main reason why I bought it that time was because two of the main leads were TWINS! Then now I watched it again cause I have got nothing to watch. So I got influenced by the show (Not being influenced to think that I was the monkey god, that is Sun Wukong). I realised what some of the Buddhism values are quite true and inspiring. At first, I really thought of turing to Buddhism. Then towards the end of the show...
(wait, let me tell you some of the background story)...
Sun (short form for SunWuKong) had a lover (I know its not quite logical but that was how the story goes) called Orchid Fairy (the original name was 紫蘭仙子 and btw Charlene acted the character). She protected him when he was fighting with the ultimate bad guy. She expanded her protection shield to the largest so that it can force the bad guy to explode after they had been devoured by the bad guy. Because she was a fairy of a flower, the shield serves as protection for the flower within her soul, so by exploding her shield with the bad guy, she is sacrificing with the bad guy. So in the end she died. Sun was unaware as he was still fighting vigorously with another thing. (lazy to explain that as the focus isnt that anyway). After all the fighting, the team was awarded and yada yada yada. Finally, he realised the death of Fairy. Throughout the story, Sun didnt admit how much he loved her. After fighting the bad guy, Sun confessed to her when she was already a spirit. She asked him why didnt he tell her earlier , even though they had mutual commitment. Sun said that it made no difference whether to talk her now or before (he didnt know the truth yet). Of course, she did say that it does make a huge difference. Then Sun went forward to hug her but he went right through her. He realised and yada yada yada. The later part wasnt the focus anymore. I had strong feeling about that scene. Not that I felt that confession should be made earlier but I felt that if we wouldnt know when its too early or too late, then why we do want to fall into this trap at all in the first place?
Quoting the show,
“皇上,你何必這麼執著於愛情呢? 能夠放得下,才是解脫之道。”
“生老病死,三界輪迴,無可避免。眾生平等皆無常,云何懷憂乎”
I admit that the two quotes are really quite "zen" but I found it really you dao li. For the first one, love is definitely what all man will experience at least once in their life. But seeing all the breakups, betrayals, divorces, dishonesty, cheats, lies, coverups, scandals, why do we continue to put ourselves in such torture over and over again then? Why cant we just let go of our tight grips on such obscure obsession and let our souls to have a minute of peace and enlightenment? I dont know also. Maybe because we are mortals and we are not "zen" enough to put ourselves out of such trouble and so we will only churn ourselves inside this cycle over and over again.
For the second one, it is just a reflection of life in simple words. If eveybody will die one day, then why worry? When it is time, just let it be. What comes comes. (Hmmm... I think I sound like I acting "zen")
Anyway, back to the cruel reality, next Tuesday will be my Maths C paper 1.
